Croton ‘Mammy’ is a vibrant, compact tropical shrub known for its striking, tightly curled foliage and bold coloration in red, yellow, orange, and deep green. The narrow, twisted leaves give this variety a unique, sculptural texture that stands out in both indoor and outdoor settings. Growth Rate and Mature Size
Growth Rate: Moderate grower in high light and warmth. Slower indoors, but maintains a dense, bushy shape with minimal pruning.
Mature Size: Typically reaches 2–3 feet tall and 1–2 feet wide. Naturally compact and upright, making it ideal for containers, small gardens, or as a colorful indoor accent.
Watering and Sunlight
Watering: Prefers consistently moist but well-drained soil. Water when the top inch of soil is dry, and avoid letting it fully dry out. High humidity helps prevent leaf drop, especially indoors. Mist regularly or place on a humidity tray if grown inside.
Sunlight: Requires bright, indirect light to maintain vivid color. Outdoors, it performs best in partial sun—morning sun with afternoon shade. Indoors, place near a bright window but protect from harsh direct sunlight, which can scorch the leaves.
