The Cara Cara Navel Orange Tree delivers sweet, seedless oranges with distinctive pinkish-red flesh and low acidity. A cross between a Washington navel and Brazilian Bahia orange, Cara Cara is prized for its complex flavor—hints of cherry, berry, and citrus—paired with rich aroma and high juice content. Its glossy evergreen leaves, fragrant white blooms, and large, easy-peel fruit make it both an ornamental and culinary standout. Ideal for home orchards, container growing, or landscape accents in warm climates.
Growth Rate and Mature Size
Growth Rate: Moderate to fast growth, reaching fruit-bearing age in 2–3 years. Produces in late fall to early winter depending on climate.
Mature Size: Typically grows 10–15 feet tall and 8–12 feet wide. Dwarf varieties can be kept even smaller, making them ideal for containers or small-space gardens.
Watering and Sunlight
Watering: Requires consistent watering during fruit set and development. Water deeply once or twice a week in dry weather. Allow surface soil to dry between waterings.
Sunlight: Needs full sun—8+ hours daily. Full sunlight is essential for sweet flavor, full-size fruit, and healthy tree development.
